S

Sasquatch
- A very large, hairy, humanoid creature reputed to inhabit wilderness areas of the U.S. and Canada, esp. the Pacific Northwest. Also known as Bigfoot.

Satan
- The chief evil spirit; the great adversary of humanity; the devil.

Scrying
- (also called crystal gazing, crystal seeing, seeing, or peeping). A magic practice that involves seeing things psychically in a medium, usually for purposes of obtaining spiritual visions and more rarely for purposes of divination or fortune-telling. Also to see or predict the future by means of a crystal ball.

Shadow People
- (also known as Shadow Figures, Shadow Beings, Shadow Men, or Shadow Folk) Are supernatural shadow-like figures of both modern folklore and paranormal popular culture that believers describe as dark humanoid forms or evasive specters that are seen mostly in peripheral vision.

Shaman
- (esp. among certain tribal peoples) A person who acts as intermediary between the natural and supernatural worlds, using magic to cure illness, foretell the future, control spiritual forces, etc.

Sheut
- In Egyptian Mythology a person’s Sheut (shadow), was always present. It was believed that a person could not exist without a shadow, nor a shadow without a person, therefore, Egyptians surmised that a shadow contained something of the person it represents.

Sorcerer
- A person who practices Sorcery; Black Magician; Wizard.

Sorcery
- The art, practices, or spells of a person who is supposed to exercise supernatural powers through the aid of evil spirits; black magic; witchery.

Specter
- A visible incorporeal spirit, esp. one of a terrifying nature; ghost; phantom; apparition.

Spirit
- The soul regarded as separating from the body at death. A supernatural, incorporeal being, esp. one inhabiting a place, object, etc., or having a particular character: evil spirits.

Spirit Board
- See Ouija.

Spiritualism
- The belief or doctrine that the spirits of the dead, surviving after the mortal life, can and do communicate with the living, esp. through a person (a Medium) particularly susceptible to their influence.

Supernatural
- Of, pertaining to, or being above or beyond what is natural; unexplainable by natural law or phenomena; abnormal.

T

Talking Board
- See Ouija.

Telekinesis
- The purported ability to move or deform inanimate objects, as metal spoons, through mental processes. Also known as Psychokinesis.

Telepathy
- Communication between minds by some means other than the five senses.

Tone Healing
- Your tone of voice affects others by disturbing, catalyzing, soothing, lulling, inspiring and quite often healing them.

Touch Healing
- To impart through your hands soothing and healing vibrations of energy.

U

UFO (Unidentified Flying Object)
- Any unexplained moving object observed in the sky, esp. one assumed by some observers to be of Extraterrestrial origin. Compare to Flying Saucer.

V

Vampire
- A preternatural being, commonly believed to be a reanimated corpse, that is said to suck the blood of sleeping persons at night.

W

Warlock
- A man who practices the Black Arts; a male witch; Sorcerer.

Werewolf
- (In folklore and superstition). A human being who has changed into a wolf, or is capable of assuming the form of a wolf, while retaining human intelligence.

Wicca
- Witchcraft, esp. benevolent, nature-oriented practices derived from pre-Christian religions.

Witch
- A person, now esp. a woman, who professes or is supposed to practice magic, esp. Black Magic or the Black Art; Sorceress. Compare with Warlock.

Witchcraft
- In various historical, anthropological, religious and mythological contexts, is the use of supernatural or magical powers.

Wizard
- A person who practices magic; Magician or Sorcerer.

Y

Yeti
- A legendary large, hairy, humanoid creature said to inhabit the Himalayas. Also known as Abominable Snowman.

Z

Zombie
- The body of a dead person given the semblance of life, but mute and will-less, by a supernatural force, usually for some evil purpose.
